Hallo,

What's the latest on DMM vol. 2 then? I assume the forum overhaul signals a stirring of the DMP loins...

> Anyone Ditched Their Mixer?

Hallo,

I've got my li'l studio set up without a mixer now, and I have to say it's quite liberating. For under £400 you can get 12 channels of audio I/O into the cpu, and use the DAW as the (extrememly versatile) mixer. Add to that a cheap-ass patchbay, like a behringer for example, and you get the best of both analog and digital without the limits of any particular mixer.

renewed love for technology...

> Schools That Offer Production Course's (dubspot, Sae, Etc.)
Posted by Markos Stratos - 03-9-08 23:22 - 7 comments
I have been in a pickle the last year or so trying to decide whether i want to attend a production school or not. I have been looking around and asking a ton of questions and i never seem to get a straight response (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I fell upon Dubspot in New York city and they look quite promising. www.dubspot.com
The offer a 6 month course (once a week) in electronic music production.

sae has something similar to this but unfortunately they do not accept part time foreigner students.

so i look'd a dubspot and they look awsome, small class sizes and amazing equipment.

I know it's best to find someone to teach you these skills but unfortunatly i do not have anyone who can. well i doo but they are all very busy working DJ's in the toronto area.

My questions to you are:

would you recommend going to a school like this to learn?
I mean i can only learn so much on my own and i'd really like to loose a lot of the headaches i have whne producing. I think it will be best if someone teaches me the right way then learning the wrong.

when viewing the website how does the course outline look?
do you think it's a good curicullum???

i would really like some honest answer's because i would like to make my decision very soon.

thank you
markos
