DVD Reviews

The reviews are submitted to our forum but here are some of the latest reviews of our DVD series:

"Before I bought them, I read the reviews by some clients and its true what they say...its like sitting in on the projects with the pro's"

-----------------------------------

"First I want to say that thinking of unlocking these doors that is gaping us from really increasing our knowledge in this specific genre of music, which no one ever had the bolls to step up and offer to take the time and effort to answer dance music producer prayer and share the true principle behind all the pro artist music but Rick did.

I know some of you have a good idea already I have 2 but to watch a brilliant guy like Rich in the synthesis DVD showing and breaking things down as simple as possible .All of us knows there no easy way of programming a synthesizer, he made it easy and that took allot of work and I support them 100% all the way. I learned so much and I am craving for more They even made the DVD's in a very good price so can be savvier for musician who are just starting out so I want to congratulate them for the amazing job Rick and john , and I can't wait for the other DVDs to come out keep the good work."

-----------------------------------

"this trance dvd is awesome. as they mention there are lots of ways to work. however there are tips and things in here that just made the light bulb turn on for me. I am soo excited to have this dvd and will be watching it several times over. I also now want to go back and reread many parts of the DMP and cant wait for any other dvd's to come out."

-----------------------------------

"I'm certainly no beginner at writing Trance music and I had some anticipation on purchasing as to whether it would teach me anything I didn't already know. While it didn't teach me that much from a technical perspective (that isn't a criticism I have read both editions of the dance music manual and a number of other books) it certainly opened my eyes in regards to how the music is produced to a professional level. After watching this its shown me that I have been spending far too much time on the wrong things altogether rather than concentrating on where the real magic lies.

I've been following the advice of the DVD since I received it and it has helped with my productions immeasurably so thank you once again."

-----------------------------------

"I got my copy yesterday and after watching it today I just had to post and say thank you for doing this Snowman!!! I've been trying to write trance for about a year and read loads of books but I never really got the hang of it. This dvd has really tied it all together for me. When I first watched it I thought it didn't really reveal any secrets but then I realised it had without me knowing lol. Its broken down some serious barriers for me!!!!"

-----------------------------------

"I have enjoyed seeing how someone works, and think the DVD is a very useful resource, and I have already picked up a few things I had not considered, but most of all, it has provided me with a renewed motivation to try and better my production and put the hours in."

-----------------------------------

"I always wondered how much time actually went into productions. I love how it says 4 hours later...and he's still working on the rights sounds. The way the mix progresses is fascinating! I like the idea of limiting the initial creation of motifs within a short defined period. I personally was trying to work on whole arrangements and found myself tired, and uninspired, but this method is very cool. I've made it through about half the DVD so far, and can't wait to see how the rest of the song develops. Remember to keep your cups empty."

-----------------------------------

I just got through watching the Trance dvd, and though this is not my genre of choice, the lessons taught can translate to any style of music.

In my opinion this dvd has been one of the greatest learning experiences I have ever had. I am sure most out there have gone through the same learning struggles as myself. Trying to dig up info on the net, reading the latest CM or FM magazine, and watching the related artist dvd's. This leads to a scattered, fragmented knowledge base that becomes more or less like trying to put a puzzle back together. You try to implement what you read here, or use what you saw there, only to sit in front of a sequencer getting frustrated because it still doesnt make sense. You are still left scratching your head thinking there must be more, what is the secret!

For me, this DVD was the secret! This DVD was like the glue that took all those fragmented pieces and put them together to make sense. Everything was broken down into manageable, well thought out, concise, lessons that taught in a way that forced you to learn. As stated in the DVD, this is not a meant to show you how to make music by copying what it is they do on screen, but rather show you how it is done, so that you can make music yourself.

For anyone wondering whether or not this DVD is for you, or if it is worth the price. Let me tell you that you will not find quality of this caliber anywhere else. I plan on purchasing all other DVD's in the catolog and I will write a full review on those as well.

-----------------------------------

I recently purchased the trance production set. I have now watched all of the trance DVD, I am yet to find time for the mixing mastering DVD but I am eager to check that one out as well.

I have a technical new media background and have been messing with 3d apps, flash, after effects etc for over 10 years, I only recently got into audio just over a year ago, starting out with FL Studio and recently trying to transfer over to Ableton.

The Trance dvd was really good to watch through, it is of a higher quality than video tutorials I have watched online partly due to the amount of time available to spend going over all of the essentials and also because Rick really seems to know his stuff and so is able to keep coming up with great tip after great tip.

It was by re-reading the DMM(version 1) that caused me to stumble across this site and order the dvds and watching the first dvd has made me want to go back and study some chapters with more focus.

As previously mentioned the template idea is really good and the ability to get your creative ideas down fast makes a lot of sense.

I didn't even know what a transient designer was before watching this dvd!

There are some really useful ideas for how to start with a simple seed of an idea and grow this into a full blown track.

-----------------------------------

This DVD (Trance) is an invaluable source of information for any beginner or a pro. It has helped me A LOT in understanding now to properly arrange Trance music. It might be strange but "The Ideas" chapter was the most valuable to me, as I simply didn't know where to start. This DVD is overwhelming to me, as was the book, and I feel I will be going over and over it again. But there's one thing for sure, there simply no other place where I can get this information from!

I was a little afraid to get it at first because it deals with Logic DAW, but in reality it was done in such a good way that all the principles described are applicable to any DAW.

-----------------------------------

I am suprised that not many people have left comments about you DVD's. I bought the Synthesis DVD because I felt that area was lacking in my production. The DVD was a real eye opener!

I then bought the Trance & Mixing & Mastering DVD's which have improved my production skills no end!
