Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra - Should Dance Producers Update?

September 26 2017
Written by: Rick Snoman

Apple released macOS 10.13 High Sierra on the 25th September. Although it introduces a number of new features, it also comes with a series of compatibility issues that you'll need to carefully consider if you plan on upgrading anytime soon.

Whats New?

Perhaps the biggest change is the introduction of a new file system APFS (Apple File System). This is touted by Apple as introducing a number of significant improvements to the performance of the Mac but it may have compatibility issues.

APFS can read and write to devices formatted as HFS+ and vice versa but only if the HFS+ is running macOS 10.12 or later!

More importantly, Apple suggested it will stop all support for any 32-bit systems by June 2018. This means that High Sierra is the last macOS to support 32-bit platforms.
