SUMMING MIXERS
Should you spend the money?
For this episode we try to determine whether summing mixers are worth the money….
Overview:
Runtime: 30 Minutes.
Article: Single Video
WHAT IS IT
A hardware analog mixer that is used in conjunction with a DAW. They promise to add “analog mojo” to your mixes in place of the “sterile” digital sound.
THE VIDEO
We’ll look at what they are and how to integrate one into your studio. Then we’ll put them the test and compare the results to a mix performed in the DAW.
EXPENSE LEVEL
Summing mixers range from £2,500 to £6,000 but you’ll also need to budget for a quality multi I/O audio interface and cabling (another £2,000).
